The story of a garment

Every Calling June piece takes 48 and 100 hours to make.
Here's where the time goes.

Designed in-house

Every print begins as an original
drawing in our own studio — never
bought-in artwork. From first sketch to
finsihed garment, the design is ours.

The fabric is chosen

We choose considered, botanical-origin
fabrics for how they drape, how they
move and how thry feel against the
skin — then cotton, linen and denim
where a natural cloth is the right one.

Cut

Each piece is cut with the pattern the
design was built around — the reason it
fits the way it does.

Finished by hand

Embroidery and detailing are done by
hand, by artisans who have spent years
on their craft. This is where most of
the hours go.

Checked and finished

Every garment is finished and checked
by hand before it's folded into
plastic free packaging.

Considered fabrics

Most of our range is botanic-origin — man-made cellulosic
fabrics like viscose and modal, spun from a plant sources and
chosen for their drape and movement. Where a natural cloth is
the right one, we use cotton, linen or denim. We don't call
everything "natural" because it's a nice word — we call it
considered, and we tell you what it is.

The hands behind the label

Our clothes are made by around 150 artisans -
roughly a third of them women - in a factory with
30+ years of manufaturing belief. The workplace is
independently audited to SETA / Sedex standards.

What we can prove

One order, one tree
We plant a tree for every order through SankalpTaru - 15,000+ planted so far.
Less water
Around 20% less water used over the last two years.
Cleaner energy
Around 13% of our facility's
power is rooftop solar, and it
runs to liquid discharge.
Nothing wasted
Fabric offcuts are sewn into totes by an all-women NGO. Packaging is compostable and plastic-free.
